IBM Debuts nline Version of Lotus Software for Cloud Computing

19 (Bloomberg) — International Business MachinesCorp. the world?s third-biggest software maker will release anonline version of its Lotus programs a bid to attract newcustomers by tapping into so-called cloud computing. LotusLive will allow users to create networks with businesspartners and customers IBM said today in a statement. Thesoftware is delivered through the Internet which is representedas a cloud on network diagrams hence the term. That freescustomers from having to store programs on their own computers. IBM aims to make gains on Microsoft Corp.

Parkland Health & Hospital System Selects Lawson Software

The health care provider will use the Lawson system to help eliminatemanual administrative processes and simplify reporting and purchasing byimproving data access. The contract was signed during Lawson’s secondquarter of fiscal 2009 which ended Nov. Lawson ProfessionalServices will provide implementation support for the project.
